Intra-College Quiz Contest - Science and Management Grade XII

The College is conducting an Intra-College Quiz Contest for Grade XII Students on  November 6 & 7, 2023 (20 & 21 Kartik 2080). Interested participants should register their names at the ECA Department by Thursday, November 2, 2023 (16 Kartik 2080).

Note

1. The Quiz has 4 Contests which are Subject-based.
2. There will be 4 Groups, 2 from Science i.e. Physical & Biology Group and 2 from Management i.e. Mathematics & Social Studies and Life Skills Education. The contestants will compete within the group only. The Groups are given below:

3. Only three students from a Section will be allowed to register for the Contest, if necessary, through unanimous selection.

 

Rules & Regulations

The Rules for the Intra-College Quiz Contest apply equally to all its 4 Subject-based Contests. The contestants from each of these subject-based groups will compete within their Group only. The Groups are given below:

Each of the four Groups (2 from Science – Physical & Biology Groups / 2 Groups from Management): will be represented by their Teams. Each of these Teams shall have only THREE student members.

There will be Four Rounds for each Group in the subject-based Contests: General, Buzzer, Specialized Subject, and Rapid Fire.

General Round

• Each Team will be asked 2 questions of 10 marks each. They will be given 30 seconds for answering each question.
• If the allotted Team is unable to answer the question, then that question will be passed on to the other competing Teams.
• The competing Teams will be given 15 seconds to answer each question. They will be awarded 5 marks for each correct answer.

Buzzer Round

• There will be 8 questions in this Round.
• Any Team which presses the buzzer first for each of the 8 questions, will be given the chance to answer that question.
• 15 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
• 5 marks will be DEDUCTED for each incorrect answer.
• Each chosen Team will be given 60 seconds for each question.

Specialized Subject Round

• Every Team will speak aloud their chosen subject (Science – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology / Management – Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Social Studies & Life Skills Education).
• Each Team will be asked 2 questions from their chosen subjects.
• They will be given 60 seconds (ONE MINUTE) for answering EACH QUESTION.
• 15 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.

Rapid Fire Round

• Each Team will be asked to nominate their speaker whom the other two members of that Team can assist through their prompts.
• Each Team speaker will be given only 60 seconds (ONE MINUTE) for answering ALL the 10 questions in this Round.
• 5 marks will be awarded for each correct answer.

 

Awards

The Teams getting the 1st, 2nd & 3rd positions shall be awarded Certificates of Achievement, Medals & Cash Prizes of NRs. 5000, 3000 & 2,000 respectively.
